2021 Greene Co Fair Queen Ashlyn Frederick

We are coming up on the main days of the Greene County Fair, with the start of the grandstand entertainment tomorrow.

To begin Friday in the morning will be the sheep and little lamb show in the show ring at 8am, followed by the beef pen of three judging at 9, also in the show ring. In the afternoon there will be the goat and goat kid show at 2:30pm in the show ring, followed by the pet show in Clover Hall at 4. The 4-H fashion show will take place right after the pet show at 5pm, along with a barbecue meal at 5:30pm, featuring the Town and Country Band.

The main attraction Friday night is the Monster Truck Racing League. Greene County Fair Board member Jonathan Marshall says there will be free Monster Truck rides from noon to 5pm. A pre-show meet and greet with the drivers will be from 5:30-6:30pm, with the show to begin at 7. He points out there will be three Monster Trucks in the show, along with the Top Dog Mini Monster Trucks. Marshall says another aspect that the public can get involved with is the Tough Truck Challenge.

“The Tough Truck Challenge will be open to every car, truck, jeep or SUV, but no open top vehicles. So guys bringing the old beater cars out of the grove, and I believe the windshields all have to be knocked out of them, and they get to take your personal vehicle on the course that the Monster Trucks do and see how you do.”

The entry fee for the Tough Truck Challenge is $40, with a payback to the top finishers. To see the regular Monster Truck show, admission is $10 per person. Fireworks will follow the entertainment. Additionally, this year’s county fair queen is Ashlyn Frederick. The Raccoon Valley Radio Little Big Red Radio continues to bring live broadcasts from the fair through Sunday.
