Class 3A baseball postseason pairings have been released by the Iowa High School Athletic Association and Greene County opens play against the top seed in Substate 8. The Rams play Gilbert at Gilbert at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 16 to open the postseason.

Greene County had a 7-14 record through July 6 and Gilbert was 19-7. There are eight teams in the Substate, which is seeded by the head coaches involved. Gilbert is the top seed and Greene County is the eight seed. The schools were in a similar position in 2019 when the Rams upset the top 10 ranked Tigers in Gilbert in the opening round. This is the first season Gilbert has been a Raccoon River Activities Conference member after leaving the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference after the 2020 baseball season. The Tigers are currently leading the Raccoon River standings.

Glenwood, Harlan Community, Denison-Schleswig, Carroll High, Atlantic, and Winterset, are the other schools in Substate 8.
