
A four run sixth inning carried the Greene County High School baseball team to a 6-4 non-conference victory over Carroll High on Friday night. The Rams improved to 8-14 with the win at Merchant’s Park in Carroll and the Tigers fell to 11-18 with the loss. Greene County has won six of its last eight games while Carroll has lost 10 of its last 11.
The Rams had eight hits on the hight with five of them taking place in the sixth. The Rams led 2-1 after one inning, then trailed 4-2 after the fourth. Bryce Stalder continued his late season hitting spree with two singles and one run batted in and Peyton Kinsey singled twice. Justin Stream had a base hit and drove in two runs with Cameren Miller getting a single and one RBI. The other hits were singles by Joe Carey and Kole Teeples. Braeden Roberts had a run batted in on a SAC fly.
Alex Roberts was the starting pitcher for the Rams He went the first three innings and allowed two runs, both earned, on four hits, three walks, and one batter hit with a pitch. Roberts recorded two strikeouts. Kinsey pitched the last four innings and was the winning pitcher. Only one of the two runs off him was earned. He gave up three hits and three walks, and had one strikeout. Greene County was charged with four errors while the Tigers had none.
