As the Perry Farmers Market continues throughout the summer season, more special guests will make their way into the weekly event.
This week will be Public Safety Night at the farmers market which will run from 4-7 p.m. this Thursday at Josh Davis Plaza. Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says Public Safety Night is a popular event for people to enjoy.
“We have different, as you could guess, public safety organizations and individuals come down to the farmers market as guests. They bring their vehicles, they might bring some other informational materials and then it’s a chance for people to you know, kids especially, get a chance to see the vehicles, ambulance, fire truck but then get to know some of those individuals that are a part of that so that it’s more familiar for everybody.”
Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio the event serves multiple purposes including getting more people down to the market as well as being able to show support to the public safety officials in the community.
“It’ll be a good chance to connect with those organizations, see what’s new, maybe learn some things and enjoy the night at the farmers market.”
Pasutti says there will also be a grill out with the Perry Fire Department and organizations that will attend include Dallas County Emergency Management and Perry Fire Department among others.
