Greene County Public Health recently announced a new venture in regards to COVID-19 testing.

According to the department, Greene County Public Health is now a Test Iowa pickup site for free at-home COVID-19 saliva test kits. Interested individuals that would like a free test kit may go to the website testiowa.com where you can pick up a kit or have one mailed directly to you. Then, just collect the sample, return the sample to the nearest post office drop-off location and the results will be posted on the Test Iowa patient portal or emailed directly to you.

Public Health Director Becky Wolf reminds everyone who isn’t fully vaccinated that there’s still time to get the shot.

“I think the thing to remember is that this virus will continue to be a problem for us as long as it is a problem for the world, globally. Vaccination is the solution to reduce the chances of  having more mutations, variants; and reducing the chances of having a peak again, and also reducing the severity of the disease.”

For more information about the test kits or where to get a COVID-19 vaccine, contact public health at 515-386-3228.
