West Central Valley baseball coach John Wheeler talked with us about the 2021 season.
Despite the Wildcats posting a 6-21 record on the season, Coach Wheeler still sees the positive. When asked about his outlook on the team he said, “I just have that positive mindset because of how the season progressed from year to year here. Looking at our stats, I kinda compared this season and last season. Almost in every category we’ve been improving and that just comes with our maturity.”
Coach Wheeler is correct, the Wildcats were statistically better in every category comparing the two seasons. This is why Wheeler is very positive. He also had this to say about the future. “I’m pretty optimistic about the next coming season here. Just being able to come off some of the successes we’ve had. Individually and as a team.”
Time will tell if this positivity can generate more wins for WCV in 2022.
