There has been some improvement in drought conditions for the Raccoon Valley Radio-listening area.

According to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor, the northeastern half of Greene County and the northeastern quarter of Dallas County continue to be in a severe drought, while the southwestern half of Greene County, most of Dallas and Guthrie counties are in a moderate drought. Additionally, the southwestern corner of Guthrie County and the southeastern corner of Dallas County are abnormally dry.

According to the National Weather Service, it has been eight days since Jefferson, Perry and Guthrie Center have recorded any rainfall, and there doesn’t appear to be any chance of rainfall within the next week.
