U.S. Congresswoman Cindy Axne

Iowa’s Third Congressional District Representative Cindy Axne is encouraging area students to participate in a challenge to create an app for an electronic device. 

The Congressional App Challenge is a way for students to be encouraged to learn code and emphasize computer science careers while also competing for an opportunity to have their app featured on multiple websites. 

The submission window is now open and all high school and middle school students in the Third Congressional District, including Dallas and Guthrie counties, are encouraged to take part before the submission deadline on November 1st. 

Students participating are encouraged to send their app designs into Axne’s office.

Since launching in 2015 the Congressional App Challenge has brought 14,000 students in 48 states to program an app. For more information on rules and to register you can go here.
