As the state tournament for baseball kicks off this week, an area school will send its team to Iowa City.

The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Tigers baseball team punched its ticket to the state tournament last week after a win over the Boone Toreadors. Head baseball coach Jason Book says the team will look to continue to play good baseball.

“We are playing some pretty good baseball right now and the boys are having a lot of fun. It’s been really fun to just sit back and watch these guys go out and play and you know I’m really proud of them.”

The eighth-seeded Tigers move on to the Class 3A State Tournament this week taking place in Iowa City for their opening round game against the number one seed Marion Indians at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Raccoon Valley Radio will have the live call of the game on True Country K1079.
