Dorothy Purdy, 91, of Fontanelle passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at the Mercy Hospice House in Johnston.

Celebration of Life Services:  Everyone’s Invited—to a Celebration of Life service on July 31, 2021.  Family invites people to gather at the United Methodist Church at 510 First Street in Fontanelle IA at 2:00 pm for fellowship & refreshments (including some of Dorothy’s recipes).  A short program will follow at approximately 3:30 p.m.  The church is handicap-accessible and air conditioned.  The Steen Funeral Home in Fontanelle is in charge of the professional arrangements.  Online condolences may be left to the family at www.steenfunerals.com.

Memorials:  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Good Samaritan Society, Alzheimer’s Association and to possible others.

Survivors:   She is survived by, sons, Roland (Earlene) Purdy of Greenfield, Randy (Marcia) Purdy of Boone, Rich (Rhonda) Purdy of Treynor, Jeff (Annette) Purdy of Polk City; daughter, Julie (Gene) Guenther of Britt; sixteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; sister, Connie Townsend of Hunt, Texas; many nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.
