Former GC Schools AD Todd Gordon

We will be looking back at the Greene County varsity athletic year on the Sports pages. Activities Director Todd Gordon reflects back to a year ago when the pandemic was much worse in Iowa than it is now.

He starts by looking at football, where the Rams were 7-3 under head coach Caden Duncan after starting 1-2, then rattling off six wins in a row before losing in the round of 16 in the Class 2A playoffs.” Our kids competed really hard and winning a couple of football playoff games in a different format, which is now ‘the format’ with more playoff rounds, was a great success. We have a great group of kids returning, so it should be a fun fall there.”

Football camp for Greene County high school players starts this Monday, Aug. 2 with official practice beginning on Monday, Aug. 9.
