Greene County ended the 2021 high school baseball season with a 9-15 overall record. Juniors Bryce Stalder and Kole Teeples were named to the second All-Conference team in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. Head coach Matt Paulsen talked about Stalder yesterday and today he comments about Teeples. “He’s a kid that loves baseball and has really worked hard in the weight room to improve himself athletically, and that hard work is really paying off for him.”
Teeples is also a lineman on the Greene County football team and will likely vie for playing time in the offensive line.
The State baseball tournaments continue today in Carroll for the remaining Class 1A and 2A teams at Merchant’s Park, and 3A and 4A schools play at Duane Banks Field on the U. of Iowa campus in Iowa City. The 4A title game Saturday night will mark the close of the Iowa high school 2020-21 sports year.
