The WCV softball season may be over, but here’s another look at the 2021 season by the numbers.
The Wildcats continued to show that statistically they were vastly improved for 2021. Defense and fielding was no different. For starters WCV was able to get a lot more outs. As a team they had 528 putouts against 2020’s 272 putouts. A big part of that was Freshman Addison Feris she alone had 202. WCV continued to also have more cohesion defensively. They raked up 235 assists. That’s 142 more assists than 2020 (93). Another Freshman stepped up in this department as well, Zoey Dickson had 70.
WCV put together a historic season in 2021, keeping with this pace, the Wildcats could have a big year in 2022.
