Cody Stephenson is the 2021 Greene Co Fair Champion Bantam, and Poultry Champion

The 2021 Iowa State Fair begins tomorrow and several Greene County 4-H’ers will be competing.

Greene County Extension Director Lori Mannel says 36 static exhibits qualified from the Greene County Fair to be shown at the state fair. Additionally, there are 16 livestock exhibits representing beef, poultry, swine, goat, horse, dog, and meat goats. 

Also, the 2021 Greene County Fair Queen Ashlyn Frederick will be competing in the Iowa State Fair Queen contest. She talks about what she is looking forward to the most as she represents Greene County.

“Our community is so amazing and I’m super excited to share that with other people in those sponsors that are going to be at the state fair. Because our community just provides so much for this younger generation.” 

Additionally, there were 13 4-H exhibits that qualified for this year’s Clay County Fair as well. Raccoon Valley Radio will announce the Greene County results during the Iowa State Fair from August 12th-22nd from the state fairgrounds in Des Moines.
