cruisin-to-the-square

A reminder that Cruisin’ to the Square is happening later today in Jefferson.

The event is formerly known as Hot August Night and will take place from 4:30-7pm around the downtown square. Co-organizer Chuck Wenthold says they had over 150 vehicles pre-register for the event. There will be several awards handed out at the conclusion of the event.

Along with taking in the uniquely renovated vehicles, there will be food choices, including grilled burgers and hotdogs from the Greene County Cattlemen’s Association and served by Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community and the Jefferson Does will be serving pie, ice cream and root beer floats. Additionally, a Poker Walk will be held this year, where people can receive a card and enter the participating businesses. Then they can submit their card for playing cards, and whoever has the best poker hand will win a prize.

There will also be musical entertainment with The Bushmen performing at the Thomas Jefferson Gardens from 5:30-8pm. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will also broadcast live during the event.
