DCG football has fielded many good football teams throughout the last few years, with one of the main reasons they’ve had good teams year in and year out has been their defense, who have had some players step up these last few years.
DCG will be hoping that they can get some big time plays from players such as junior Josh Hendricks, who provided great numbers in his sophomore season with 35 tackles and 3 tackles for loss as well. Senior Austin Fiori was able to record 44 tackles on the season which included five tackles for loss as well. Senior Cuinn Cullen will be hoping to get back to terrorizing offenses in the backfield as he was able to put up two sacks on the season and four tackles for loss as well. Senior Alex Abens was also able to return 24 tackles from last year as DCG will have a solid core returning on the defensive side of the football.
DCG will be hoping to have one of the best defenses in the district this year, and know that they will have to have returning starters step up immediately and get newcomers adjusted to the varsity level at a fast pace as well.
