Dallas Center – Grimes cross country programs had banner year in 2020, and they will be coming to produce similar campaigns for the 2021 year. On Tuesday, iowarunjumpthrow.com came out with their preseason rankings for all four classes, and both DCG teams were there, with the girls being the preseason ranked number 2 team and the boys at number 1. The result is unsurprising with both programs returning the majority of their runners from a year ago, which includes Aiden Ramsey on the boys side and Kami Smith on the girls side expected to be individually ranked in 3A.

The boys are the defending state champion at 3A and the girls were the state runner-up from a year ago, as both teams will be looking to back up those performances and will have targets on their backs all season long as teams will be gunning for the Mustangs.

DCG teams will be having their first meet of the season a week from today when they compete up in Ames in an invitational hosted by Gilbert.
