When you head out in search of your locally grown produce at the Perry Farmers Market this week, you will also be able to get some free melons.
As the Perry Library continues to give out free produce at the farmers market, the free produce for August is watermelons, which will be available starting at 4 p.m. this Thursday while supplies last at Josh Davis Plaza.
Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says with the library doing the free produce giveaway it’s another way the farmers market can interact with local businesses and organizations.
“They will be giving out watermelon. So, they are purchasing from one of our local vendors so that we can do that giveaway.”
The Perry Farmer’s Market will continue to be on Thursdays from 4-7 p.m. in Josh Davis Plaza through the end of September.
