The Gilbert Invitational cross-country meet scheduled for today has been cancelled. The meet was to have been held in Ames on the Iowa State University course, and Greene County was to have opened its season today at that meet. Raccoon Valley Radio received word from the Greene County Activities Department that the meet was cancelled due to weather and course conditions. Next on the schedule for the Rams is the West Central Valley Invitational on Thursday, Sept. 2.

Logan Woodruff is the top returning runner for the Rams. His goals for this season include qualifying for the State Meet at Lakeside Golf Course north of Ft. Dodge as both an individual and as a team. Greene County drops in class size this season from 3A to 2A.

The lone home cross-country meet for Greene County is at Jefferson Community Golf Course on Saturday, Sept. 11 in the morning. The Iowa at Iowa State football game is that day, but kickoff is several hours after the cross-country meet will conclude.
