According to the National Weather Service, Guthrie County will continue to see above 90-degree temperatures for the next couple of days, and for those working outside make sure to take extra precautions.

Adair and Guthrie County Emergency Management Deputy Director Jeremy Cooper tells Raccoon Valley Radio for people that are working outside make sure to start earlier in the morning around 5:30am before the heat peak of the day. He says there are consequences to working in this heat.

“If you over overexert yourself today then there might not be tomorrow because you will be having some sort of heat sickness and might not?

Cooper adds if you are outside, you need to drink eight-ounces of water every 15 minutes to stay hydrated.
