The 2021 high school football season begins tonight on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com when Greene County meets ACGC in Guthrie Center. The Rams were 7-3 last season while the Chargers were 4-5. Both squads return nearly all of their starters from a season ago and both are very much anticipating this season.

The Chargers rely on the ground-oriented wishbone offense while the Rams operated the offense from the short shotgun or pistol formation, but have been known to mix up the offenses. ACGC returns all but 141 of the 2,365 yards they rushed for in 2020, and Greene County graduated just 23 of the 1,735 yards they ran for last season.

Senior quarterback Bryce Stalder is Greene County’s quarterback. He was named the Class 2A offensive Player of the Year in District 9 of Class 2A following last season when he threw for over 1,200 yards and ran for 570. Nine Greene County starters return on defense as do the kicker, punter, and much of the return game.

Coverage tonight starts around 6:15 p.m. with kickoff at 7 on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
