This past Friday was the first home win for WCV football since 2017. They defeated North Mahaska 7-0. They’ll look to keep that momentum going tomorrow night in Red Oak.
The Tigers are coming off a 41-20 loss to Riverside last week. A game that Red Oak only trailed 7-6 after the 1st quarter. This week these two teams will meet on the gridiron with very similar offensive mentalities. Both teams had a lot of success running the ball with almost identical numbers. Red Oak had 181 yards and WCV had 189 yards respectively. The leader for WCV was Kaedon Lindsay who had 100 yards on 28 carries and the game’s only TD last week. This could make for a very quick game.
The Wildcats struggled throwing the football last week Quarterback Nate Gerling didn’t record a single yard and threw two INTs. Red Oak was slightly better with 76 yards passing. Although running the ball may be the focus for the Wildcats, passing is an area that WCV will have to clean up to win this one. The game kicks off tomorrow at 7pm in Red Oak.
