
ARNP Julie Nielson
Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson recently announced two new providers for the Greene County Family Medicine Clinic.
Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Julie Nielson will be with family medicine. She has her master’s degree in nursing from Excelsior College and her Certified Family Nurse Practitioner credential from Bradley University. Since 2019, she has worked at the Denison Family Health Center. Services Neilson will provide with the family medicine clinic include, general pediatrics, adolescent medicine and wellness, disease prevention, internal medicine, acute care, physicals and immunizations, among others.
Another new hire is Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner for Mental Health Christie Burnell. She has two bachelor degrees in psychology from Iowa State University and nursing from the University of Texas. Burnell earned her Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification from Walden University. She has worked in several rural hospitals, including Greene County Medical Center in 2009. Burnell will be working in the Behavioral Health Department and will provide services including, counseling, diagnosis, evaluation and assessment, plan of care, treatment development, among others.

Nielson and Burnell will start in mid-September, but are accepting appointments now by contacting the family medicine clinic at 515-386-0500.
