
Perry visited Greene County in high school football Friday night at Linduska Field in Jefferson with the Rams winning by a 63-0 final on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The game marked the 91st time an actual Cowbell was played for with the Rams now leading the series by a 60-29-2 advantage. The Rotary Clubs from Jefferson and Perry introduced the Cowbell in 1928, but the series goes back to 1898 when the Perry YMCA team defeated Jefferson High School.
The Rams evened their record at 1-1 this season while Perry fell to 0-2. Greene County scored on their first seven possessions, all in three plays or less for a 49-0 halftime lead. It was 35-0 with 1:39 to play in quarter number one. The Rams had 373 yards of offense to negative 8 for the Blue Jays.
