The Panorama Panthers Football Team headed to Pella Friday night to face the Pella Christian Eagles and ended up on the wrong side of the win column after four quarters.
The Panthers were moving into week two of the regular season looking to improve their record to 2-0 but ended up falling short against the Eagles Friday night losing 44-7. This is the second time in recent years the Eagles have beat the Panthers after they bounced the Panthers out of the playoffs in the second round last year.
Head Football Coach Mike Kauzlarich says the Panthers started with a 7-6 lead early on in the game but came out flat after that and the Panthers headed into halftime down 31-7 and struggled to move the ball offensively through the ground game and through the air.
Kauzlarich says the Panthers faced a good team in the Eagles and their athletes caused matchup problems for the Panthers. Moving into their matchup with the Central Decatur Cardinals next week Kauzlarich says the focus will be controlling the ground game both offensively and defensively.
The Panthers will be looking to bounce back when the Cardinals of Central Decatur come to Panora for a non-conference matchup with kickoff at 7 p.m. September 10th as the Panthers look to get back into the win column and improve to 2-1.
