A reminder that later today is an annual event in Jefferson that means the end of another activity for the year.

Doggie Day will be held at the Jefferson Municipal Pool from 1-3pm. The event is hosted by the Animal Protection and Education (APE) Charity in Paton. For two hours, canines and their owners can swim at the city pool before it closes for the year. The cost to attend is a free-will donation, which will be given back to APE to continue their low-cost spay and neuter program.

There will also be items given away such as dog toys, balls and frisbees.
