Greene County is 8-4 overall in high school volleyball and Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s team is 2-1 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play. The Rams had Saturday off from varsity action and will host non-conference opponents South Central Calhoun (Lake City) and Panorama (Panora) at 5 p.m. Tuesday in the middle school gym in Jefferson.

Greene County hasn’t had a winning season in volleyball in recent years and the team has already equaled the win total from all of last season. Alexa Peters is a junior back row player for the Rams and she gave Raccoon Valley Radio her thoughts about why the Rams are doing so well. “We just are such good friends and we mesh together so well. We’ve all known each other for so long and played together for so long and we just flow together so well.”

It’s a young Greene County team with Brianna Habben the lone senior seeing appreciable playing time.
