When Night of Conflict returns to Long Lines Arena in Sioux City on Saturday, October 2, Greene County will be well represented. Sebolt Wrestling Academy of Jefferson will have several wrestlers in the event including McKinley Robbins of rural Scranton and Kale Petersen, who recently became a Jefferson resident. Both are 2021 Iowa High School State Champions; Robbins winning the 120 lbs. title in Class 2A for Greene County and Petersen, the 106 lbs. 1A Champion for West Fork (Sheffield).

Robbins will face Braden Graff of West Sioux (Hawarden), the 2021 Class 1A 113 lbs. State runner-up. Petersen goes against Minnesota wrestler Alan Koehler, a 2021 106 lbs. 3A State Champion for Prior Lake, who also won two titles in freestyle and Greco-Roman in July at the Junior Pan American Games.

On the girls’ side, Lilly Luft of Charles City, has two matches scheduled. Luft is the daughter of Jefferson-Scranton graduate Lenny Luft.
