The Perry City Council approved tax abatement applications for residential construction completed in 2021 in Perry at their regular meeting Monday.

The tax abatement applications can be applied for and then approved by the Council and then are submitted to the Dallas County Assessor for review for the tax exemption. Also, the Council approved the time at date for a nuisance abatement hearing for the October 4th Council meeting. Also, the Council continued the discussion on fireworks and what the City should do moving forward after receiving numerous complaints and opinions from citizens after the most recent Fourth of July holiday.

Finally, the Council approved a pay request for $14,386 for the McCreary Building renovation to Ball Team LLC for paint repairs in the gym which were completed earlier this year in the summer. Also, the Council approved a comprehensive plan, scope of work with Bolton and Menk to update the City’s comprehensive plan.
