Jefferson residents can purchase new trees on a limited basis.

The Jefferson Tree Committee, in conjunction with Trees Forever and Alliant Energy, are offering specific new trees for residents to purchase, due to the 2020 derecho storm. The trees that are available include bald cypress, black and bur oak, elm, river birch and quaking aspen. Residents are allowed to purchase no more than two trees that each cost $30, with a 70-percent reduced rate included. 

Orders must be placed by 4pm on October 4th by contacting Joan Conroy, and her contact information can be found below. Interested individuals must leave their name, phone number and email address, as well as the type of quantity of trees.

Trees will then be available to pick up at the Greene County Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 16th from 9-10:30am. Checks must be made out to Jefferson Community Betterment Foundation.
