Even though the Panorama Panthers Football Team currently has an overall record of 1-4 on the season with room for improvement, there are also bright spots, too.

The Panthers fell to 1-4 on the season last week when they faced the Interstate 35 Roadrunners losing by a score of 26-20. Head Football Coach Mike Kauzlarich says despite the loss the running game continues to be a bright spot for the Panthers this season.

“Last Friday night Ryan Cogil, who’s a sophomore, he had his second 200 yard game of the year, he rushed for 245 yards against a really potent I-35 defense so that was something that we were really excited about our offense line did really well.”

With the Panthers are moving into this weeks matchup against the West Central Valley Wildcats, which is homecoming, the Panthers will look to continue to run the ball effectively against a 2-3 Wildcats team. Kauzlarich says in the last half of conference play the Panthers will be looking to come away with wins.

“There’s a lot of exciting things going on. We know that we have to win two out of our last three games here to qualify for the playoffs. I think that’s achievable and that’s something that our guys are trying to work for.”

The Panorama Panthers Football Team will look to pick up their first win in conference play this year when they take on the West Central Valley Wildcats in Panora for homecoming this Friday with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
