
Greene County lost in four sets in Heart of Iowa Activities volleyball to West Marshall (State Center) in Jefferson on Tuesday night. The Rams played without two starters, then lost a key reserve to injury early in the match. Brianna Habben suffered a knee injury Sunday playing powder puff football and Katrina Heupel injured an elbow on Monday at the Roland-Story (Story City) Tournament. Violet Reedy was struck in the face in set one vs. WM by the ball struck at a high rate of speed. Greene County falls to 10-7 on the season and 2-2 in conference matches.
Scores were 23-25, 17-25, 25-23, 12-25. Set one saw the Rams lose after leading 16-8. Set two saw the Rams trail 1-7 at the start and did not catch up. Set three had the Rams trailing early, then the home team took the lead by as many as six points. Greene County was behind 0-5 in the fourth set and the Trojans were never seriously challenged.
