With Indigenous Peoples’ Day on Monday, some offices and businesses will be closed in Jefferson.

The Jefferson City Hall, Jefferson Post Office and the Jefferson Public Library will be closed on Monday in observance of the holiday. Library staff reminds patrons that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday.

Jefferson residents are reminded that due to the holiday on Monday, garbage routes will be delayed by one day. Monday’s routes will be picked up on Tuesday. Then Tuesday’s routes will be done on Wednesday. Wednesday’s routes will be collected on Thursday. Garbage routes will go back to normal schedules the following week. Residents must have their garbage at curbside by 6am to ensure pickup.
