It is National 4-H Week, which gives a time for people to recognize the nation’s largest youth organization.
Dallas County Extension and Outreach 4-H County Youth Coordinator Allie Wisgerhof says many people don’t realize how large the 4-H organization is. Wisgerhof urges everyone to take time this week to recognize past and present 4-H members.
“It’s just a time for us to celebrate all of those that are currently in 4-H, that have been in 4-H and the impact that it’s had on their lives so we are celebrating it in Dallas County this week.”
Wisgerhof says she appreciates Dallas County 4-H’ers.
“This week is just an awesome time to celebrate our kids. Our 4-H’ers are the best in Dallas County and we just appreciate them and our volunteers so much. So, this is a time for people to recognize our kids and what they are doing.”
Wisgerhof tells Raccoon Valley Radio some of the activities that 4-H’ers are doing this week with the celebration is a competition going on where people can share their favorite 4-H memory on the Dallas County Extension Facebook page and be entered to win a prize. To share your favorite memory of 4-H to enter into the contest you can go here.
