Later this month the Dallas County Conservation Board will be hosting a program which will allow participants to explore the aquatic ecosystem.

The program will have two offerings of 10 a.m. to noon and 1-3 p.m. on October 23rd at the Redfield Boat Ramp in Redfield and registration is required. Outreach Coordinator Sarah Gilchrist explains what participants will get to do.

“One of our new naturalists, Zach Moss, is going to be leading a program called What’s in the Water? Which is an introduction to water quality monitoring so he is going to be over at the Redfield Boat Ramp and showing people how to test water and what clean water really means and how that can affect an ecosystem. So, that’s an exciting thing you can sign up for through our website.”

The “What’s in the Water” program is for those who are 12-years-old and older,  is limited to 15 participants per session and is weather-dependent. Those participating are asked to bring a bottle of water and wear waders, boots or shoes, or sandals that can get wet.
