The Panorama Panthers Volleyball Team headed to Urbandale Thursday to take on the Des Moines Christian Lions at Des Moines Christian High School and fell short in three sets.

The Panthers were facing off against the top team in the West Central Conference in the Des Moines Christian Lions. The Panthers came into last night’s matchup with an overall record of 6-15 while the Lions had a record of 32-6.

The Panthers lost set one 25-6 and then lost set two 25-15 and finally lost set three 25 -10 to drop the match. The Panthers fell to 6-16 on the season and the Lions improved to 33-6 on the season. The Panthers currently have a conference record of 3-5 this year.

Panorama Panthers Volleyball coach Joanne Sandage says the Des Moines Christian Lions are a very solid team both defensively and offensively and play a fast offense. Despite this Sandage says she felt the Panthers played well as they could against a strong Lions squad.

On the night Jaidyn Sellers led the way in serving going six for eight with three aces. On the defensive side of things Tyme Boettcher led the way with eight digs and Grace Webner and Jazmyn Sellers both had five digs  a piece. Jaidyn Sellers had four kills while Tyme Boettcher, Grace Webner and Jasmarie Flanery all added one kill each on the night.

The Panorama Panthers Volleyball Team will now be preparing for their next match when they take the court again this Saturday for a tournament beginning at 9 a.m. at Woodward-Granger High School in Woodward.
