When Greene County plays Clarke Community in Osceola tonight, Coach Caden Duncan’s team will be looking to sweep all five Class 2A District 8 games and go into the playoffs next Friday with a seven game winning streak. Greene County already has the top seed in the district wrapped up and is 6-1 overall and 4-0 in the district. Clarke is 5-2, but just 2-2 in the district after an upset loss on the road to Red Oak last week. The Rams blanked RO two weeks ago in Jefferson, 55-0.
Coach Duncan told Raccoon Valley Radio his team needs to maintain focus even though a playoff berth has been clinched because Clarke has a Division I lineman in Spruceton Buddington, who has offers from Iowa State and Nebraska, and other qualify players. “They got upset last week and we need to make sure that’s not us this week. They have good size, it’s their last home game and their Senior Night.”
The game can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Coverage begins at 6:15 p.m. with kickoff at 7 o’clock.
