
Dallas Center – Grimes football took on the Titans of Lewis Central in district action, with the Mustangs looking to keep their winning streak. They unfortunately were unable to get the victory falling to the Titans by the score of 42-10. For DCG they drop to 2-6 on the season and for Lewis Central, they move to 6-2 on the year.
The loss also puts a huge dent into qualifying for the state playoffs for the Mustangs, as they won’t finish in the top two of the district.
Lewis Central came out swinging in the game as they took a 35-3 lead into the locker room, as they put up 20 points in the first quarter and 15 points in the second quarter. DCG struggled to get their ground game going on the night as they had 20 carries for 24 yards.
Josh Hendricks was able to lead the Mustangs in the tackles department defensively, as he was able to put up nine on the night as well as a sack.
For the Mustangs, they will have their final home game of the season coming up this Friday when they host the Glenwood Rams in Grimes for senior night.
