One local, non-profit organization in Jefferson recently went through part of its planning for next year’s activities and events.

Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community held its strategic planning session. President Jamie Daubendiek says these meetings help them not only with long-term goals, but specifically how to execute plans to make those goals become a reality.

“So it gets us to think outside of our comfort zone, big picture, but then breaks things down very small into manageable goals. So we’ve done that the past couple of years (and has) been good with our board.”

Daubendiek acknowledges that last year was when Jefferson Matters: Main Street and the Jefferson Area Chamber combined into one organization, so he was excited to continue working as one unit.

“It’s always tough with change, but the volunteers did a great job coming together and sharing ideas, and really focusing on a few of those key priorities that we want, that we felt was best for the organization and the community to continue to move forward.”

Daubendiek adds from this planning session, the different committees then come up with their activities and events, which is then put into their annual budget for their fundraising drive that will begin later this year for 2022.
