The Panora City Council recently approved a new automatic meter reading system from a company called Van Wert. 

Mayor Pat Parker says that residents of Panora will be contacted by Van Wert Company by mail about setting up an appointment to make the change of the meter system. Parker explains the timeline of when this will happen.

“(Van Wert) estimates about six months to complete the town by the time they set up daily schedules and work through people’s schedules to get them all worked in. So we’re hoping by spring it will all be in and ready to go.”

Parker explains that this new meter reading system would allow for better accuracy and less man power to go door to door to manually check meters.
