As Perry’s Academic, Cultural and Enrichment Services (P.A.C.E.S) prepares to celebrate after school programs tomorrow, the annual event will return to normal circumstances this year.

Project Director Mary Hillman says last year the annual event took place but it was in a different format than normal due to the pandemic. This year Hillman says the in-person event is coming back.

“We did have our program but it was live-streamed and we videoed that and sent that out to families. So, we are just thrilled that we can be back in person as well. With that I usually honor some key partners every year, we couldn’t be doing this without them.”

Hillman tells Raccoon Valley Radio this week will feature plenty of fun activities to take part in including a walk around the Jim Kaufman Track which will help raise money as well as other events at a program on Thursday in the elementary lunchroom from 5-6 p.m. Thursday.

“Come and see what we are doing. I think if you see 130 students in the group, if you saw us at the homecoming parade you are probably like ‘Wow look at all those kids,’ my wonderful staff that do such a great job with their lesson planning. See the kids having a great time walking laps.”

The PACES celebration will take place tomorrow and Thursday. The money raised will go to PACES to help with programs among other things.
