With it being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Guthrie County Hospital is encouraging women  to get a mammogram. 

Guthrie County Hospital Medical Imaging Director Sarah Madsen explains when a woman should get a mammogram. 

“The American Cancer Society recommends that a woman start having her annual mammogram at the age of 40. A woman can choose to have a mammogram every year or every other year from ages 40 to 45 but then they recommend 45 to 55 you have an annual mammogram.”

Madsen says that the best defense of breast cancer is early detection by getting a mammogram. . The Guthrie County Hospital does mammograms Monday through Friday from 8am to 4:30pm and for more information contact the hospital.
