The time period for when absentee ballots can be mailed out for the upcoming city/school board elections has passed.
According to the Greene County Auditor’s office, 89 absentee ballots were requested and have been mailed out to eligible voters. As a reminder, absentee ballots must be received by the Auditor’s office by no later than 8pm on November 2nd to be counted. The new state law will no longer allow absentee ballots that are postmarked or that have barcodes scanned on the return envelope to be received after Election Day to be valid.
Additionally, in person voting is continuing in the east lobby of the Greene County Courthouse until 5pm on November 1st. As of Monday, about 100 people have voted early in person at the courthouse. Contact the Greene County Auditor’s office with any questions at 515-386-5680.
