Dallas Center – Grimes boys and girls cross country teams had their 3A qualifying meet on Wednesday afternoon in Winterset, and they were able to get some phenomenal results as the girls and boys were both able to make it to the state meet as teams. The boys were able to get first place on the boys side with a team score of 33, and the girls were able to grab a 1st place finish to make it as as team with a mark of 58, nine ahead of the next opponent.

Aiden Ramsey was able to continue his dominant streak of running, placing first with a time of 15 minutes and 31 seconds, winning the meet by more than 38 seconds compared to the next closest runner. The Mustangs were able to round out their top ten with Tate McDermott 4th with a time of 16 minutes and 24 seconds, Jacob Ewers 7th at 16 minutes and 41 seconds, Ben Every 10th with a time of 16 minutes and 46 seconds, and Owen Pries 11th with a time of 16 minutes and 49 seconds. All of those runners were individual qualifiers as well.

The girls were lead by three top 10 performances with Hannah Little 8th with a mark of 20 minutes 5 seconds, Meredith McDermott 9th with a time of 20 minutes and 11 seconds, and Maddy Stevens 10th with a time of 20 minutes and 14 seconds. DCG rounded out their scoring with Skyler Blessmen 14th with a time of 20 minutes 31 seconds, and Abbey Angus 15th at 20 minutes and 31 seconds.

For both of these teams, they will be running in the 3A race next Friday afternoon in Fort Dodge, with the girls to run at 2:45 and the boys to run at 3:30.
