trick-or-treat-around-the-square-2

A reminder that today there are multiple Halloween events happening in Jefferson.

The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department and the Greene County High School Interact Club are teaming up for Halloween-themed games from 3:45-5pm at the Greene County Community Center. Kids can also receive free candy and other treats. Parks and Rec Director Denny Hammen talks about some of the typical games, such as pumpkin bowling and pumpkin decorating, along with one new exciting game for the kids.

“Deal’s Orchard was kind enough to donate several pumpkins for us to use in our activities. We have a new game, which is going to be kind of fun, it’s an inflatable pumpkin that you can sit your body into and you can bop off of each other. They call it pumpkin bopping, I guess, something new for us. We’re going to set that up in our racquetball room and let the kids bounce off the walls.”

A new change is the cancellation of Trick-or-Treat Around the Square because of weather and there will not be a makeup date. Another activity is a Story Stroll by the Jefferson Public Library of “Creepy Carrots” from 4:30-6:30pm at the community center. The final activity will be a concert by the Greene County Middle School at the middle school auditorium starting at 7pm.

All festivities are free and open to the public, and families are encouraged to wear their favorite costume.
