AC/GC’s football season came to a close Friday with a loss to Van Meter 31-13 in the quarterfinals of the playoffs . We caught up with Coach Cody Matthewson and talked about the end of the year.
“I see the headlines and I see people talk about it, you know talk about magical year and shocking year and this and that. I just want to put that to rest nothing was magical about this or shocking about this the reason was this was what we were expected to be, this is what we wanted to do, this is what we knew we could do, this is what we were capable of. We just played a very good Van Meter team that is going to make a pretty deep run in the playoffs to the semi or finals so again it was special, special group of kids. First four year class we’ve had here look at what they did look what they bought into look at the outcome they had.”
The chargers finished with a 9-2 record and two playoff victories most in school history.
