Dallas Center – Grimes girls basketball has gotten practice under way this week, with the Mustangs planning to find a way back to the state tournament in Des Moines. DCG has put together a challenging schedule this year, one with the traditional terrific Little Hawkeye Conference play, as well as some non-conference tests that should provide some punch.
DCG will be taking on some great non conference opponents including the defending 4A state champion Ballard, Benton Community Schools, Johnston, and Gilbert along with other terrific teams.
They also will be going through their traditional tough conference schedule, where DCG is the current defending conference champions, but know that they will have a tough field to play against this year.
The hope with putting up a tough schedule will prepare them for playoff basketball, as they hope their running on all cylinders come February.
Mustang basketball will be looking to start out of the gate quickly when they kick off the season Friday, November 19th, taking on the Ballard Bombers on the road.
