With all of the fall sports seasons in volleyball, cross country and football wrapped up for the Panorama Panthers, the boys and girls basketball teams will be preparing for the season’s first doubleheader at the end of November.

The Panthers boys and girls will have their first basketball doubleheader right at home in Panora beginning with the girls game at 6 p.m. followed by the boys game at 7:30 p.m. as the Panthers are preparing to take on the Mount Ayr Raiders. The Raiders finished last season with an overall record of 16-6 for the girls, who dropped out in the Class 2A Region 5 semifinal last year and the boys team finished with a record of 19-5 and fell to the Montezuma Braves in the Class 1A Substate Championship game last year.

Both the boys and girls Panthers basketball teams are coming off of impressive seasons last year as the girls team continued its legacy of success finishing 19-5 and making it all the way to the Class 3A Region 1 Championship game and the boys side finished 18-5 on the season and made it all the way to the Class 2A Substate 8 Semifinal game where they lost a heartbreaker to the Van Meter Bulldogs 57-55.

Both the Panorama Panthers boys and girls basketball teams will be looking to get back out onto the court for practices as the girls can begin practice this week with the boys beginning next week ahead of their first regular season tilt against the Mount Ayr Raiders with the girls tipping off at 6 p.m. November 30th with the boys following at 7:30 p.m.
