The Perry Public Library is preparing to celebrate National Storywalk Week with plenty of fun activities planned for next week.

Children’s Librarian Suzanne Kestel says throughout all of next week people should get out an enjoy the Storywalk in Wiese Park that encourages people to go out for a walk while also reading a book. Kestel says the Storywalk is a good activity for all ages.

“I don’t think it’s only just for the children. It seems like a lot of adults use the walking path and they actually enjoy going by and looking at it also. It’s just another fun way to get that literacy skill built up and so if you can do it in different venues, different ideas, then it’s always a good idea.”

Kestel tells Raccoon Valley Radio there will be plenty of activities next week for people to take part in including walking along the path while reading the book as a group and then children getting to take home a fun activity all on November 20th.

“I just hope that lots of people come on November 20th and help us celebrate Storywalk Week.”
