Girls’ basketball practice has begun at Paton-Churdan High School, and the boys will start on Nov. 15. Tom Kennedy returns as the girls’ coach and Bud Fagen is back on the boys’ side. Kennedy is also the head softball coach for the Greene County Rams, which P-C has a sharing program with, so some of his basketball players also play softball for him. The Rockets have had a good run in girls’ hoops, led by 2021 graduate Danielle Hoyle, an All-State post player. Senior Carmyn Paup is the lone returning starter from last season, but a couple other Rockets played a reserve role.

Coach Fagen sees quite a few starters and reserves return from last season. The wins in recent seasons have been difficult to attain, but experience usually helps.

Both coaches have years of experience and are Greene County natives. Fagen graduated from East Greene and Kennedy from Jefferson High School.

The Rockets open the seasons on Nov. 30 in Churdan with a girl/boy doubleheader vs. Boyer Valley (Dunlap).
